Teresa Armenta Deu

Gained her PhD in law from the University of Barcelona and currently holds the post of professor of procedural law at the University of Girona in Spain. She is a member of the Comisión General de Codificación (General Codification Committee) (5th circuit). She won a Humboldt scholarship and now heads up five research and development projects organised by Spain's Ministry of Education and one by the EU. She is visiting professor at several European and American universities where she teaches masters and training courses. She is a teacher at the Judicial School (CGPJ Spain) and has written civil and criminal procedural law handbooks (eight reprints), three procedural law studies, ten monographic studies and many collective books and articles in Spanish and international journals. She heads the CEAPJ (Centre of Advanced Studies of Procedural Law and Justice) and is a member of the IAPL council and associate of IAPL, AIDP, ADP and AEBHUMBOLDT. She is a member of the editorial board in several publishing companies and reviewer for several agencies and indexed journals. Her current lines of research are: criminal and civil procedural reforms; evidence; safeguarding and protecting victims; civil actions; comparative procedural law; legal certainty; contractualization of justice, and speeding up and abandonment of procedural law (ADR).
